Charmingfare is a real working farm. The fields get plowed and planted, the rooster crows in the morning and the barn cats continue to chase the mice! But there’s so much MORE that the farm offers.
Everything from farm animals to pet and feed, or North American wildlife like bears and wolves to visit. Summer camp and field trips…special events like the Teddy Bear Picnic, Reptile Day…..concerts, magic shows….hayrides, Halloween rides, pumpkin pickin’ ……horseback trail riding. In the winter…..sleigh rides, Christmas events…. the Sugar Shack!
We can do birthday parties, weddings and other custom events. We can even bring the farm to you! Explore the site, call us! There’s a ton to discover, and always a reason to visit!!
CSA Stands for Community Supported Agriculture
The CSA concept originated in Japan in the 1960s by a group of women concerned with the use of pesticides, the increase in processed and imported food, and the loss of farmers and farmland. The first CSA in the U.S. was created in Massachusetts in 1984. Today there are over 2,500 CSAs in the United States.
CSA programs have become a very popular alternative way to buy fresh vegetables, seasonal fruits, meats and eggs directly from a local farmer. CSA programs are a direct partnership between you the consumer and the farmer.
Farmers like us sell shares of our crops and livestock to the public. CSAs are subscription based where members pay in advance for a share of the upcoming harvest. In return shareholders are ensured access to truly nourishing food.
