We are now serving meals from 4:15-5:00pm in our dining room on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
While the purpose of the Sonshine Soup Kitchen is for the most part to provide a free, hot meal to anyone in need, we do offer other, limited services.
Clothing Ministry
We offer a small clothing ministry that provides a limited amount of clothing and personal care items. Because we have limited space in our office, this ministry is relatively small. Donations are accepted, items that are not appropriate for our clientele, or if we have a surplus, are passed to the Marion Gerrish Thrift Store in Derry. Our clothing closet is open Tuesdays 3:00-4:00 pm.
Home Delivery
For Guests
We realize that at some point in time, those guests who frequent our kitchen may for one reason or another become unable to come into the dining room. For those guests who still require a meal, but cannot join us, we offer them this service. Each night, volunteers deliver meals to roughly one dozen homebound guests. The meal they receive is the same as the one they would receive if they had visited the dining room.
This service is available for a limited short-term basis to help clients get back on feet. Therefore, all new additions to our delivery program must be interviewed and approved. If you would like to receive a meal, please give Christine Fudala a call during office hours, Monday through Friday, 1pm to 6pm, at (603) 437-2833.
