Treasures, a Hallmark store, in East Hampstead, keeps an eye on the newest and hottest toys for all ages.
Sometimes we want toys that can travel or be used during quiet times. Tiktok Fidget It toys can help children pay attention when they listen during on-line learning. The concept is that we all love popping plastic packing material. These colorful shapes of apples, octagons, unicorns and more offer endless popping. Push the small bubbles and turn the toy over for more popping. And if the fidget toy is missing from the toy box, it’s entirely possible that one of the adults is popping during a Zoom meeting.
Crazy Aaron’s Novelty Thinking Putty is also sold at Treasures. It stretches forever in gorgeous colors. Some are sparkly, some magnetic. It’s probably best for older children. Crazy Aaron’s offers kits to play games with the putty, which never hardens or dries out. Santosuosso says that these are made by a crew with special needs.
And then there are toys that are like a vacation at home. You will need adequate space for this one. The Slackers Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course for Kids sets up with a 50 foot slack line and 9 hanging obstacles (monkey line, hanging bars, wooden ladder) that can be adapted to many skill levels and ages. Best for age 5 and up. For every Monkey Line purchase, Ninjasafe donates to meals for children in need.
