Family Open Gym

On Mondays throughout the school year, the Recreation Department opens its doors to all Chester residents for a variety of sports and activities. Want to play a bit of pick-up basketball? How about soccer? Make your way to the Recreation Department between 4 and 6 pm to join other members of your community for an evening of fun!  

Recreation Sports

Looking for a program that will help you get in shape? Give the Recreation Department’s Boot Camp a try. This circuit-style training class alternates between muscle training and cardio moves. This class is great for all fitness levels.

Walking Club

If Boot Camp seems a little too high-intensity for you, try the Walking Club! This easy, accessible exercise gives you a chance to work on your fitness goals—and you’ll still have the breath to socialize! 

Stay and Play Family Playgroup

What better way to meet other parents and children than to join this safe and fun playgroup? Aimed at children five and under, this weekly event gives families a great opportunity to form strong, local connections that could last a lifetime.

Chester Academy:

Parents of school-aged children in Chester have a variety of public and private schooling options to choose from. Chester Academy is the main choice of public schooling for K-8 students; however, students can also attend a unique alternative.

Forsaith Forest

This forest park houses a unique Atlantic White Cedar Swamp. Take a stroll along the boardwalk trail to catch a glimpse of Southern New Hampshire’s upland and wetland creatures. 

Wason Pond Park & Conservation


This 105-acre plot surrounds Wason Pond and is open to the public for conservation and recreational uses. Its beautiful trails are open from dawn to dusk.

Spring Hill Farm: This conservation area encourages residents to enjoy its many walking and horse trails. Hunting and fishing are also allowed in select parcels.
